Forum Organizers: Bet Power & Jean Savarese

TRT Talk Radio Host Allie Thorpe interviews Bet Power for the upcoming LGBT Community & Ally Northampton Mayoral Candidates’ (Michael Bardley and David Narkewicz) Forum to be held on Saturday Oct. 29th, in The State Room at the Center, 35 State St. in downtown Northampton.

In a recent press release, Savarese explained that “the forum will give the audience a chance to ask the candidates questions relatedto the Northampton LGBT community, social justice and civil rights, as well as more generaltopics involving the mayor’s office.”

Mr. Power, Executive Director and Curator of the Sexual Minorities Archives, a national collection of LGBT literature,history, and art located in Northampton, will moderate the forum. Jean Savarese is one of theco-founders of Out Books On Wheels, a volunteer effort helping LGBT elders to continue enjoying life out of the closet via a free LGBT mobile lending library and related services.

The Forum will take place from 3-5 p.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to ask questions and inquire about each candidates’ strengths and weaknesses.
